The opioid crisis doesn’t just affect those who’ve become addicted and their families; it also affects newborns and the nurses who care for them. Kyle Cook and Carla Saunders, neonatal nurse practitioners in Tennessee, helped create one of the first treatment protocols for babies exposed to opioids.
