Age alone effective in identifying future CVD

Screening using a cut-off of 55 years detected 86% of all first cardiovascular disease (CVD) events occurring in the population every year according to a study in PLoS ONE, which states, “Age screening for future CVD events is simpler than Framingham screening with a similar screening performance and cost-effectiveness.” Read more http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0018742.
