AHRQ reports results from survey on patient safety culture

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) has published “Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture: 2012 User Comparative Database Report.” The report includes areas of strengths (teamwork within units, supervisor/manager expectations and actions promoting patient safety, organizational learning—continuous improvement, and management support for patient safety) and areas with potential for improvement (nonpunitive response to error, handoffs and transitions, and staffing) for most hospitals.
