American Nurse Today Celebrates National Health IT Week!

National Health IT Week 2019 is in full swing, and American Nurse Today hopes to bring more attention to this initiative.

Using the hashtag, #IHeartHIT, you can share your stories of the importance of healthcare IT.

One particular issue American Nurse Today wants to highlight, is the pursuit to expand access to broadband telehealth options for patients:

Access to telehealth through broadband is critical, and plays an important role in the improvement of a community’s health. Unfortunately, over 21 million Americans still lack basic access to broadband, thus limiting their ability to utilize telehealth options. Individuals living in rural areas, for example, have higher rates of chronic disease, which could be more efficiently controlled if these individuals had access to broadband services and telehealth options. The need and importance of IT services in healthcare is extremely evident, and growing with the modernization of our society, and initiatives like National Health IT Week do a great service for our nation.
