American Nurse Today wins 3 prestigious ASHPE awards

The entire team at American Nurse Today, the official journal of the American Nurses Association, is honored to again be recognized by the American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors (ASHPE) with the receipt of three awards—gold, silver, and bronze. In their annual competition, ASHPE recognizes outstanding editorial excellence and achievement in healthcare publications. While we are grateful for this recognition, we would also like to thank you, our readers and website visitors, for your continued support, suggestions, feedback, and contributions that have helped us reach this goal and continue to look towards the future to bring to you valued, evidenced based information to enhance your practice, professional, and personal lives. Gold award for Best Case History

Applying a systematic approach to new-product assessment” by Janice Tootle, RN, MHA. Ms. Tootle described a step-by-step process for assessing technology to control costs and keep patients safe.

Silver award for Best cover: Computer-generated

Preventing and treating osteoporosis, cover design by David Beverage. This dynamic cover highlighted the article “Stopping the silent progression of osteoporosis” by Adrienne Beraducci, PhD, ARNP, BC, CCD.

Bronze award for Best How-to Article

Infants in peril: Assessing sepsis in newborns” by Lori Bass Rubarth, PhD, RNC, NNP. The author described how nurses could use the new Newborn Scale of Sepsis, which she developed, to detect sepsis.
