Factors influencing treatment delay for patients with acute myocardial infarction

According to a study in Applied Nursing Research, factors that lead to delay in treatment for acute MI after symptom onset include being at home or in a public place and having more ability to control symptoms. Factors associated with a short treatment delay include thinking that symptoms were heart related, calling 911, having a high pain scale, and telling someone about the symptoms. Read more here.
