Guidelines for abdominal aortic aneurysm screening released

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force has released recommendations on screening for abdominal aortic aneurysm. One of the recommendations is one-time screening by ultrasonography in men ages 65 to 75 years who have ever smoked. The task force is an independent panel of nonFederal experts in prevention and evidence-based medicine, and is composed of primary care providers such as internists, family physicians, and nurses.
