Infection control lapses common in ambulatory surgical centers

According to an article in the June 9 issue of JAMA, 46 of 68 ambulatory surgical centers in three states had at least one lapse in infection control in one of the following areas: hand hygiene, injection safety and medication handling, equipment reprocessing, environmental cleaning, and handling of blood glucose monitoring equipment.
