This issue includes two articles with so much information that we had to break them into two parts. The first is a feature titled “Nursing considerations for procedural sedation and analgesia.” In Part 1, the author focuses on patient assessment, red flags, and pharmacologic agents. Part 2, which will be published in June, will focus on airway management, procedural monitoring, and postsedation care. The infection prevention article (Revisiting CLABSI prevention strategies) in this issue also is presented in two parts. Part 1 looks at indications and insertions; part 2 will discuss maintenance and what to do when a CLABSI occurs.

Other articles in this issue cover topics ranging from osteoarthritis (the CNE) and COPD to strategic thinking skills, social media etiquette, and research sample size. You’ll also want to read the articles in our focus sections: Nursing excellence and Safety options.
