A study in JAMA Psychiatry reports factors associated with a higher risk of suicide among enlisted soldiers include female sex, entering the Army at 25 years or older, current age of 29 or younger, not completing high school, being in their first four years of service, having never been deployed, and history of a mental health diagnosis during the previous month.
